Thank you so much. I just finished mine and it turned out great. I volunteer at a thrift store and when we get bags in that are beyond repair, I save the handles and all the hardware. I was able to repurpose many items on this bag. Thank you again

It depends on what type of machine you have some machines you can buy a guide that will keep the material sewing straight. That’s what some factory use.
Try using your finger as a guide, simple find where you want the stitch to go. Take your finger and butt the fabric or material against your finger. Guide the material against your finger, never move it and sew.
Other then that practice and getting to know your machine.
^.^ Yes! Thanks so much! I’ll be trying to make this bag out of juice pouches so, One question: You have any tips on sewing in a straight line? Try as I might, the line always comes out looking like a snake. >__<
@cynthwarr7 No, a stay is like a guide, It means”stay here” I want this fabric to stay here. You apply rubber cement which is different then paper cement. If you are using rubber cement it will not blend through fabric in most cases. Stays are made from paper or stabilizer. Once you understand how they are used. In most case you will used them to turn the material over for a clean edge or finish.
Great videos “very interesting”
1.When using “stay” Is that a certain kind of paper or is that a term used that just stabalizes the fabric?
2. Also when gluing the “stay” to the fabric , are you using the rubber cement for that part or a craft glue or something other than the rubber cement used on the outer edges?
